European Stewards exists to bring steward ownership to the parts of Europe where no one is yet building it. We're a regional field builder and incubator — not a continent-wide umbrella, and not a chapter of any existing organisation.
What we are
Regional field builder and incubator.
We work in three balanced ways: raising awareness for steward ownership, advising companies on converting, and seeding new national field builders. Our scope is deliberately bounded — the parts of Europe not yet covered, starting with the Baltics — rather than all of Europe.
We take the layout and language of the wider movement seriously, but we don't copy anyone's taglines or structure, and we don't claim to speak for the field.
Legal form
An Estonian foundation, built to be purpose-locked.
European Stewards is organised as an Estonian foundation — a legal form with no members and purpose-locked assets, governed in two tiers (a management board and a supervisory board).
Registration is in progress and supervisory-board recruitment is the founding precondition. We'll publish the specific governance details here once registration is complete — until then we describe the structure in general terms rather than claim what isn't yet finalised.
Where we sit in the movement
Aligned and adjacent, not affiliated.
We see ourselves as complementary to the organisations already advancing steward ownership in Europe. We coordinate and partner where it helps, and we stay out of markets that already have a chapter. But we don't claim formal affiliation, partnership, or network membership with any organisation — where we work with others, we'll say so plainly and specifically.
